The first mode is the SDT (Sensory Discrimination Training) mode. Designed to be used each day for up to 21 days within a 30 day period. SDT therapy helps retrain the brain by stimulating specific areas of the residual limb, helping the brain “re-map” itself and reduce phantom limb pain over longer treatment sessions. These sessions last 30-45 minutes and the unique Tree shaped pad is used in SDT mode. SDT focuses on long-term neuroplasticity so it's important to top up your therapy. It is recommended to use the NeuroTraining mode every 12 weeks for 5 continual days for 30 minutes each day.
The second mode offers Instant relief. This is a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) mode. It uses electrical pulses to block pain signals from reaching the brain, offering effective temporary relief. In this mode you apply the specific TENS pad and have the option of 3 different treatment programmes that run for 15 minutes.
